PREPARE FOR WAR | As you stand for something.

PREPARE FOR WAR | As you stand for something.

As you lose your respect for people because they are standing on a ground different from yours, as you chose what to believe and the cause to fight for, I just hope you consider this and remember it for the rest of your life. I just hope that for the first time, you look beyond what you stand for and look truth in the face. If you can’t find the truth yet, look for it! Never live in a lie.

The day of battle is the wrong date for the preparation of war. Are you aware that you can be hunted by your past when you least expected it? Are you aware that no matter how people feel about it and no matter how inappropriate it seems to anyone, your past can hunt you with what seems like no mercy? Do you know that the more you pamper that weakness, the more it grows, waiting for the best of your moments to strike back?

“The day of battle is the wrong date for the preparation of war. “

What is that weakness and addiction that you have been nursing? What is that sinful act that you aren’t ready to give up yet? What are those things you have been deliberately doing that you feel it will never see the light of the day? Do you think you can hide it forever? That you did it in the past doesn’t mean you should continue doing it! That you have been involved in it before doesn’t mean it is too late to repent of it and start looking for ways to make amend.

The bad roads you ignore today may be a barrier for you tomorrow if you need to walk through that road again in the future and the bridge you break today may be the only thing that will prevent you from getting to where you should go if you still need to make use of that bridge. Those unimportant people you oppress today may be the actual bridge you need for tomorrow. That young girl or boy you abused today may turn out to be a terrible road for you tomorrow.

“…the bridge you break today may be the only thing that will prevent you from getting to where you should go if you still need to make use of that bridge.”

You see those little issues you think it doesn’t matter? You see that little anger issue? It can turn you to a murderer tomorrow! You see that sexual addiction and abnormal fantasies? It may turn you to a rapist tomorrow! You see that lack of contentment? It may make you a fraudster tomorrow! The more you condone it, the more it grows! The more it grows the more it becomes difficult for you! The more you ignore handling it now, the more the devil takes advantage of it to ruin you in the future. You may never know how terrible those things will become! They may be lizards today, but they may evolve to dragons tomorrow. Maybe, this is where evolution is true. Why allow it to evolve? Why not deal with that lizard today? Do you think you can handle the fire it will be vomiting as a dragon?

One day, just one day, those unsettled issues, unsettled addictions, unsettled offence and weaknesses may rise to visibility! Nothing is hidden under the sun after all. It may take time, but it may surely surface! Who have you offended? Who have you wronged? Who have you murdered? It is better to face justice now and keep those things as the memories of your bad days than try running away from it and allow it to hunt you in your days of glory! What seems like a little offence today may become a criminal act tomorrow.

“They may be lizards today, but they may evolve to dragons tomorrow. Maybe, this is where evolution is true.”

Make peace now, open up now, admit you’re wrong now and right the wrongs the way you can. This way, you are ready to answer the call of war tomorrow. Handling those issues earlier is easier than handling it when it has grown into a flying beast! Your sword may be able to deal with it today but if you leave it for tomorrow, it may have grown beyond your sword and as each day passes by, your sword becomes blunt and rusty. I don’t know who needs to hear this now but you must start to right your wrongs if you want to face tomorrow with dignity.

If it is about God’s forgiveness, you have no problem. The problem lies between you and your fellow man whom you have wronged. It is better to go on your knees today and keep begging for their mercy till they tell you “it is alright. I forgive you” than walk away in pride thinking you can handle whatever comes your way. They may become more powerful than you tomorrow, they can discover their hidden strength and those timidities you took advantage of today can stand in your face as a mighty warrior in the future.

“Your sword may be able to deal with it today but if you leave it for tomorrow, it may have grown beyond your sword and as each day passes by, your sword becomes blunt and rusty.”

Hope you aren’t grooming the warriors that will fight you? Hope you aren’t keeping people whose loyalty actually lies in their anger and desire to come back at you and seek justice for the evil meted out on them. It may sound absurd for many people that your past is hunting you but the truth is that if your past ever rises up against you, it is because you allowed it to live and grow! The Child you wanted to kill today, may grow up and seek justice! People who can’t speak up today can speak up tomorrow at the slightest provocation. Whether it aligns with your perception or not, whether it is coherent or not, whether it adds up or not, this is the crux of the matter and you must face it.

A future you aren’t prepared of will take you unawares. A battle you didn’t prepare for in the past will definitely consume you. Go back to your drawing board, check out the loopholes and start closing them. We all have a common enemy who is the devil and no matter how we have victory over him in the Spirit, he can take advantage of those loopholes and mistakes to infiltrate into our physical experiences.

“People who can’t speak up today can speak up tomorrow at the slightest provocation.”

I don’t know who I am writing to, I don’t know if this is relevant to you but I am going back to my drawing board, I am going back to my past records. It is time for a review. As you stand for something, remember this. Sometimes, peace is the only way to win the war!
