“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” -EPHESIANS 2:10
Have you ever met a man who decides to build a house for the sake of building? Even if someone decides to erect a monument for decoration purposes, that monument serves a purpose; that is a beautification purpose. Have you ever seen a manufacturing company that manufactured products they never intended selling? Whatever we invest in, we hope to achieve a purpose. In the same way, God never made a man without a reason, we were created for a very tangible purpose. Just like the animals were created for man, the man was created for something. Get this:
1. We are God’s invention. We never happened by accident.
2. The essence of our making is defined in Christ Jesus.
3. The purpose of our making is to do good works.
We have witnessed so many theories come and go but it is still obvious that we aren’t products of an accidental big bang. The sharp accuracy of the entire universe in coordination and the awesome way male and female compliments shows that there is an intelligent being behind our making. While so many religions gave us different perspectives, Jesus came presenting God to us. No one else has ever done that. Just like the sim card is useless without a phone, we are not useful outside Christ. This is because Christ empowers us to live the glorious life which God had ordained from the foundations of this earth.
POINT TO NOTE
As believers in Christ Jesus, we have been recreated and the Bible says “old things are passed away and all things are new.” This means, we have received a brand new life in Christ and therefore we ought to live it to its full. One of the ways to do good works for which we have been called is to love all men and partner with God in bringing them to the knowledge of the truth which sets free. This love is manifested in how we treat others, we must be patient, peaceful, kind and hopeful towards others even as we bring them the good news of Jesus.
“I am God’s invention and therefore I live to fulfil the purpose for which I was made.”
Thank you, Lord, for saving and calling me into partnership with you. May I always come to the reality of who you have made me and why you have made me so that as daily as I live, I am committed to that purpose.
