” For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”” – Jeremiah 29:11
It is difficult to see God in the midst of that challenge and sometimes it is even annoying when we are told “God loves you” in the midst of all the troubles that we are facing. The biggest questions people ask in the face of challenges is “if God truly loves me, why did He allow this to happen?” We must understand that God didn’t promise to handle the earth for man, He handed the earth over to us so that we can make out of it whatever we want. But because of man’s sin, man indirectly submitted the world to the devil. The devil said to Jesus during temptations in Luke 4:6 “I will give you all their authority and splendour; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to.” Adam handed the world to the devil through sin. But then, get this:
1. In a broken world, God still has plans for you.
2. God wants to prosper you.
3. God wants to give you hope and a future.
Just because God has plans for you doesn’t mean it must be experienced by you. To experience God’s plans for you, you must be willing to receive Him and rest in Him. God isn’t promising a quick fix out of all your troubles but He is promising you that in the midst of it all, He is right there with you. The proceeding verses 12-13 says “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
POINT TO NOTE
God is available to you as much as you can call on Him. He wants to prosper you, then you must submit to Him and never lean on your own understanding. Sometimes, we allow our bad experiences to shape our understanding and it limits us of how much we can receive from God. God has a plan for you, just let Him!
“I know God has plans for me and His plans for me are good! I rest on His unchanging love.”
Thank you, heavenly father, for reminding me that in the midst of challenges and in the face of hard times I can rest in your promises.
