“…I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.” – Isaiah 46:9
Throughout our lives, we have always heard about God and whether we believe in God or not, the evidence of a super intelligent being behind the making of this world is so obvious that the fingerprints are left just in all creations. Personally, there is no other God who fits this description except the God we found in Jesus. We have also usually seen things like “nobody is like God” which indicates the uniqueness of God and His character, not necessarily His image because the Bible reports that we were created after His likeness. But have we paused for a day to think that just the way God is unique we are also unique? Get this:
1. God is a person
2. God is unique
3. There is no one else like Him in a sense
4. We were made just like Him
If God made us in His image, then we are like God and we also share in His uniqueness and can also boldly claim that there isn’t anyone else like us. Understanding that out of all the billion people in this world, you are expressly unique give you a sense of esteem. We share exactly in the features of God in the sense that for each and every one of us, God left a unique print. Have you ever seen two fingerprints that are the same in this world? Have you ever seen two identical twins that share the same fingerprint? Your ten fingers have different prints too. Just like every MasterCard Gold premium credit card shares the same features but unique identification number which differentiates it, we are all like God possessing that quality of being distinctly unique and special.
POINT TO NOTE
Jesus said He is one with God (John 1:18), that is to say, He is God who came in flesh in the form of a son just like we are God’s sons too. However, Jesus didn’t stop at saying He is one with God, He also said we are one with Him (John 17:20-26) and Paul by the inspiration of the Spirit of Jesus wrote in 1 Corinthians 6:17 “But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.” Before the fall of Adam, God made man to be part of the God-office and even after the fall, God came in Jesus to reconcile us back to Him. You definitely share in God’s uniqueness. You are special and there is no one else like you.
“I do not strive to be like anyone else, I am unique and I am the best of who God has made me.”
Precious Father, thank you, for making me just like you. Thank you for giving me a distinct touch of yours and making me special. May I be able, to show others that they can also identify their uniqueness in you as they live the best of themselves. Amen.
