“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, ‘“The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him’” –Lamentations 3:22-24
God is not a less emotional being who feels no compassion and reluctant towards us. Many times we feel God has failed us in several ways because we didn’t see Him come to our aid the way we had thought it would happen. As much as God’s ways are different from the ways of men, God feels every bit of our tears, failures, un-comfort and so much more and He wants to be part of our success. We shouldn’t compare God to those idols made with human hands that can’t feel a thing!
1. We are not consumed because of His great love.
2. He has unending compassion for us.
3. God’s love don’t go stale or old, it refreshes every new morning.
4. We must personally acknowledge it to see it work.
We may be tossed about on every side, we may pass through the fire and waters, we may pass through the valleys of shadows of death but God’s love for us leaves us unconsumed. We shouldn’t just understand this as staying alive in the physical, God’s love keeps us saved forever and we receive it when we acknowledge it. God truly cares and like the Bible says in 1 Peter 5:7 that we should cast all our cares on Him because He cares.
POINT TO NOTE
Although God cares, He needs our permission to express His care in certain areas of our lives and it is our duty to cast our cares to Him while it is His duty to care for us. The beautiful thing is this: God’s love doesn’t grow stale or get old, His love is always fresh at the breaking of every new day. He doesn’t get tired of loving us and He doesn’t get worked up in loving us. And now, you have to encourage yourself in His love by confessing it to yourself and saying “the Lord is my heritage even in the midst of challenges.”
“Christ is all I need and I have all of Him. Therefore, I walk in the consciousness of this knowing that He makes all the difference even when I go through the fire.”
Dear Lord, all my cares I cast on you. I don’t rely on my own strength to get it done, I rather rest on your unending love knowing that you always care.
