CHRIST, OUR SALVATION | Alive! Daily Devotional

Christ our salvation | Alive! Daily Devotional

“My salvation and my honour depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.” ~ Psalm 62:7

The Psalmist saw it prophetically, that the blood of bulls and lamb wouldn’t guarantee salvation. As much as the Jews in those days would use those sacrifices to temporally deal with the sin consciousness, it was never enough to deal with sin permanently. Our salvation has no dependence on good works and sacrifices because it was not bad works that made men sinners, it was the inherent sin nature inherited from Adam that made men sinners. The Psalmist wrote somewhere else in Psalm 51:5Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.Get this:

1. Salvation doesn’t depend on us or our works.

2. Only God could author our salvation.

3. Only in God do we stand secure.

To deal with sin once and for all, God came in the person of Jesus to die our death that we might live His life. Concerning this, the Bible says in Hebrews 10:10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. We aren’t going to be made holy, we have been made holy!

If God is our mighty rock and refuge, it means we cannot be stranded in Him or lost in Him. Jesus paid the price for our sins once and for all and we need not fear if we could lose our salvation because we have a guarantee in God that we won’t! He is the one our salvation depends on and if you have surrendered to Jesus, you are saved!

“I saved and forever saved! My salvation isn’t dependent on what I am able to do right but on the finished works of Jesus!”

Thank you, heavenly father, because you have assured me of my salvation in you. I wasn’t good enough but you still loved me.
