DELIGHTED IN GOD | Alive! Daily Devotional

Delight in God | Alive Daily Devotional

“Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”  ~ Psalm 37:4

It is difficult to rejoice when you don’t have a reason to rejoice. It is difficult to come to someone who just lost a baby, a job or something very important asking him or her to rejoice. This is because our emotions play a vital role in our physical well being. But when we focus on the eternal promises of God which is very evident in our lives regardless of what we face, we can have a new perception of things that happen around us and it can greatly influence how we react and what sponsors our joy.

1. We can take delight in God at all times.

2. God grants the desires of our heart.

We wouldn’t list every reason why we should take delight in God but it is important to know that it is your choice to take delight in God or allow circumstances what you feel. To take delight in God means to stay satisfied in God! God is our father and we already know that we are partakers of His promises, this is enough to rejoice in Him at all times. The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Being satisfied in God shows the level of confidence we have in Him and our fears can show how we do not trust God. We are assured that He gives us the desires of our heart but it is my faith that we condition ourselves to receive from Him what He has already given.

“I am satisfied in Jesus. It is true I may face certain challenges, it is true I may face certain things that aren’t pleasant to my flesh but I chose to stay satisfied in God.”

Precious Lord, you are my satisfaction. I chose to trust you more and more and I chose to stand strong even in the face of challenges because I know you are with me and your wish for me is for good and not bad.
