“Christ paid the price so that the blessing promised to Abraham would come to all the people of the world through Jesus Christ and we would receive the promised Spirit through faith.”
~ Galatians 3:14
The blessings of Abraham isn’t something exclusively available to the Jews who have historical ties to Abraham or the Arabs. But wait a minute! What are the blessings of Abraham? Many people want to think it is his livestock and his properties but while it is not wrong in some context to include those, the blessings of Abraham is that of God counting him righteousness not because he did anything right but because he believed (Genesis 15:6, Romans 4:3). It was that justification by faith that the Bible calls “the blessings of Abraham”.
1. The Blessings of Abraham is available to everyone.
2. That blessing comes as a result of the price Christ has paid.
3. The Blessing is only available in Christ and received through faith.
The Bible says the blessings of Abraham would come on the basis of the price Christ has paid and it is available to anyone who believes regardless of your background or ethnicity. Whether you are a Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist and so on, the moment you believe in Jesus, the promise of Abraham becomes yours and that is to say “you become assured that you have been justified” and there is no need going through rigorous sacrifices to get God appeased. This is why Christ paid the price so that you can stand justified by faith and not based on merit which no human can ever attain.
POINT TO NOTE
If you are a believer in Christ Jesus, you have been justified and you are righteous. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:21 “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” You never had to do anything to be righteous, you are righteous because you have been declared righteous and therefore you have been enabled to live out the fruits of righteousness.
“I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I have been reconciled with God and by the reason of this amazing truth, I walk in love and manifest the fruit of righteousness.”
Thank you, Lord, for counting me righteous! My life will be a testimony of your glory and just nature.
