Even as believers in Christ Jesus, many times we get hooked up in the mess and challenges that we seem to be trying to find God rather than holding on to Him! First, it is important to know that God is right there with you but it is a more amazing truth to know that God is in you! Being in you makes being with you a super experience! There is nothing too bad to get God scared of being with you; He is just with you and in you as a believer and nothing can change that, not even your worst behaviors! Knowing how close God is with you keeps you in tune always to call Him boldly!
I want you to understand this beyond religious jargon! You need to know this truth from a personal point of view. God wants you to come to that point where you can confidently say to yourself “I know my saviour lives!” The Psalmist said “even though I walk through the valleys of shadows of death, I shall fear no evil for thou art with me.” The only reason he need not fear any evil isn’t because he is a strong man but because of the consciousness that God is with him. This consciousness is enough to put evil to flight, it is enough to encourage you and strengthen you when you are faced with big issues! The Psalmist knew that no matter how death seems to surface that God is mighty to save! Knowing how much God is concerned about you makes you confident in the days of trouble.
First, we know that God is mighty to save us from all troubles including the ones we even got ourselves into! Secondly, I know that even when it seems God is not doing anything, He have a better and more wonderful plans for us! God said in Jeremiah 2:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” All of God’s plans for you are for good and none is for evil! You can trust God even when it seems there is no reason to because God is working His purpose out even with the ugliest situation. Don’t act as though you are without a father, Jesus said it is pagans who act with desperation (Matthew 6:7, Matthew 6:32) because they have no father to trust! They have no reason to be confident because there hope is always in men who fail or in a god who isn’t living at all! But our trust is in the Lord, the God and maker of all the Earth!
Satan uses fear and deceit to get the best of us if we pay attention to him! He wants us to believe God isn’t close and he would want you to be filled with guilt so you can’t approach God but listen carefully, God want you to approach the throne of grace with boldness because you have access (Hebrews 4:16). One way to stay afloat is to hold on to God’s word and nothing less! God said in Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” No matter how dark that valley is, no matter how desolated it is, no matter who has left you and rejected you, no matter how hopeless your situation seem to men God wants you to trust Him and never get frightened! Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had this confidence in God that they never got frightened with threats to be thrown into the fire! Hear them “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand.  But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” – Daniel 3:16-18. They knew God is mighty to save them from all situations but they also knew if God didn’t save them from that furnace, it would still be for a reason best known to Him and therefore they were confident and trusted whatever God’s judgement would be! It is time you trust God’s judgement! Whatever the outcome would be, stay grateful to God!
In Isaiah 40:10, God said yet again “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” It is true that sometimes the flesh would want to come in the way and you seem to forget God’s assurances! But you’ve got to keep reminding yourself that God is your source of strength! He didn’t just promise to be with you, He also promised to strengthen you, assist you in all ways and uphold you with His righteous right hand! To uphold you means to keep you standing! Can you trust God this much?
Jesus said to His disciples in Matthew 28:20 “…And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” God’s presence with us is not operating on a time frame, Jesus is God in the flesh and before He left the earth physically, He promised the Holy Spirit which is His Spirit and that is how He intends to be in us! He is in us timelessly which means that no matter the situation God is right there! All through those times you got broken, those times you were rejected, those times you got betrayed, those times you were in the dark crying, Jesus has been right there wishing you could recognize that people would leave you but He will never leave you forever! You can rest on His promises and be confident! You can say to yourself “things may not even look promising, things may look terrible, it may seem as though nothing is working but I will trust in the Lord!” Keep bringing it to your consciousness until it becomes very material!
I want you to keep in mind that even if you got yourself in a mess, even if you did something wrong and displeased God, He doesn’t leave you! He wants you to recognize your mistakes and trust Him to make things right! The Bible says in Romans 8:38-39 “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” There is nothing that can separate you from God’s love; there is nothing that has been fashioned, is being fashioned and will be fashioned that is powerful enough to separate you from God’s love! God’s love for you is unconditional and He wants you to rest in His love.
What is that thing that is bothering you? Are you in series of debts? Are you faced with certain mess you got yourself into? Are you faced with any challenge at all? Are you feeling lonely and depressed? Did your loved one left you leaving you broken? What exactly is it that has gotten hold of you? I’ve got a word from God for you; He is saying “I am your number one friend, can you trust me? Can you rise up, wear a smile and trust in me? You may not feel like it now but hold on to me for I am making all things beautiful in its time!”
God loves you! Blessings!
