CAN YOU JUST TRUST GOD? |

Can you trust God
:
A lot of times we find ourselves on the cross-road, we find ourselves holding on to something so strong and never willing to let go! Sometimes it is a nice job, sometimes a habit, sometimes a relationship, sometimes it is even a diet! Inside of us and just right about our conscience, we know something isn’t right about that very thing! Maybe you’re addicted to alcohol or maybe you’re given to a relationship that is just drawing you away from God and you just know within you that this isn’t God’s will for you but you are afraid to let go because you don’t know what life without that addiction can be like! Maybe you are given to an illegal business and you really have so many debts you’d want to settle and God is beginning to prompt you in your heart to quit that job! Maybe He is influencing your conscience to speak to you but you’re just very afraid that if you don’t do this, you may never get to settle that bill, and you may even get arrested and rot in jail!
:
Oh well… The biggest thing that is making us not to follow God’s direction at times is lack of trust in Him! If you realize that relationship isn’t God’s will for you quit it and trust God enough to bring you the right relationship! You see, Adam searched among the animals and couldn’t find any suitable companion! He could have resorted to settling for the less, maybe an ape! But no, God caused him to sleep deeply; he was lost in a state of deep dependence on God and not on himself anymore. God brought him who was rightly his. Sometimes you just have to quit struggling and allow God! That job you are fighting to keep may not be God’s best for you! Why not listen to God and let go of that job? You cannot get God’s best for you when you haven’t let go of what you thought the best was for yourself! You cannot access another door when you keep admiring the beautiful handle of the former door!
:
When God wants to shut down a door, allow Him to do it! Trust Him; He is shutting down that door for your safety! Maybe that door leads to your destruction and He doesn’t want you destroyed! Maybe that door leads to wonderful opportunities but He wants to train you before you can access that opportunity so you can be able to hold on to it! It takes faith in God to accept His decisions! They might not look like it but if it is God, it is best! Many times, your God-given conscience will keep fighting you off from something; you don’t have to be stubborn! Get back on your knees and ask God “is there something about this that isn’t right for me?” If you are open to His leading, you will definitely read His direction!
:
When you decide to leave everything to the cares of God and rest in His love, you’ll suddenly begin to see God in everything! Don’t fight too hard to get back to things and people that left you! Maybe this is God’s way of protecting you from future disaster! Your judgement may not be right but God’s judgement is always right and it is only based on His love for you! God doesn’t want to punish you for any reason, He wants to guide you right and if you follow Him, you’ll never ever go the wrong way! The Psalmist said “He leads me beside the still waters…” Psalm 23:2 If you can just follow His leading, you will walk beside still waters and you’ll come to that place where He already prepared your table! There is no point trying to prepare your own table because this is what God is very good at! Let Him do it!
:
Your own understanding may seem so amazing and right but trust me when I tell you it will not and cannot measure up to the amazing fulfilment you will have when you decide to trust in God who isn’t wise but wisdom Himself. The Bible says in Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” We make so many mistakes trying to make our own choices independently! The most dangerous statement we make is “I am grown up now and I know what is best for me! I can make my own decisions now!” Sometimes, God wants to influence our decisions, He brings people our way, He brings a Bible verse across our minds, He speaks directly to us or He use just several other ways but we go ahead to lean on our own understanding and we end up not going on a straight path! Why not trust God now?
:
When you lean on the wisdom and direction of God, you will experience so much peace! A peace that is out of this known world! Like Jesus said in John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” You will end up getting troubled when you lean on your own understanding but when you trust in God, it is just peace! When you trust God, you can sleep well knowing that God is in charge! Yea, trust in God makes it a cruise control experience! You aren’t even pressing the buttons, you are relaxing and God is doing it all for you!
:
Now, can you trust God? Can you take that decision based on God’s will and not yours? Can you quit that job that isn’t God’s will for you? Can you quit that relationship that isn’t God’s will for you? Stop entertaining those things thinking maybe God will have a change of mind! If you trust God enough, you will jump right out of it because you know that “if it is God, it is good!”
