VICTORY, IN HIS NAME

:
Ignorance births consistent failure, a lot of people aren’t living in victory and freedom not because they don’t have it but because they aren’t walking in what they have or because they aren’t aware they already have it. It is like a man who bought a car but continues to trek or board public transport, he has a car but he isn’t driving it! He will always be exposed to the inconviniences of using the public transport because he isn’t driving what he has. Another great example is that of a sports-man who won a champoinship game and got rewarded with 20 million dollars! He already won, he isn’t trying to win, he has won and if he starts spending the money and living a beautiful life with it, he is living in his victory and every result of his wealth is based on the fact he has won and is living by what he has won. But if he decides to stack the money somewhere and live in a very poor environment, the mosquito bite that affects others will affect him too. If he decides not to be feeding, the same hunger that strikes people who don’t have food will keep striking him too. Or let’s say a man got an award in payment of money into his account but didn’t read the alert detail that came in the SMS, he may continue borrowing, begging and crying to survive without knowing he has much more than he require in his account! He is suffering from ignorance and until he knows about what he has, he will never enjoy it!
:
Now this is what so many believers are going through in their Christian life. They are either living in ignorance or not exercising the victory they have in Christ. Many think that living in victory means staying up at nights to engage in a battle with demons but no, if we must go by what God’s word tells us, you already had victory, you aren’t trying to have victory, you aren’t having victory, you haven’t been empowered to have victory, you already have victory, you just have to live in it! The Bible says in Romans 8:37 “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” Take a look at that, we have become more than conquerors through Christ! Christ had victory on our behalf and accorded us with the medal of honour! We were never left with undefeated demons, Jesus had victory over darkness and brought us out of the captivity of that darkness into His marvelous light! The Bible says in 1 John 3:8 “…for this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
:
The reason Jesus was made manifest on earth was to dismantle the works of the devil, this works includes his systems and deceit! And of course Jesus finished His works on earth and He said on the cross “it is finished!” Jesus made a public disgrace of the devil and we have to know this and walk in it. See, it doesn’t matter how real some things seem to be to you, it doesn’t matter the kinds of experiences people seem to share about the power of the devil, it is none of your business! God’s word already assured us that the enemy has been defeated and his works has been destroyed, this is the report you have to believe! You don’t need any more anointing oil to be delivered just as you don’t need an additional eyes on your face than the two eyes you already have.
:
The report of the now says you are more than conqueror! It would be nice if the Bible says we will conquer. It would be amazing if God’s word says we will fight and win but it is more amazing that we are told that Jesus already fought our battles, he already won on our behalf! Let me show you how much the devil was defeated. The Bible says “and having spoiled principalities and power, he made shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” – Colossians 2:15. The death of Jesus on the cross was a public disgrace of the enemy! Jesus didn’t just die on the cross, He rose again and in this way He triumphed over death. Principalities and powers has been spoiled and Jesus has subjected them to us!
:
Jesus destroyed sin on that cross, death no longer have dominion over you (Romans 6:14). This is to say, you may make mistakes in the flesh but sin can’t fulfill its cause because it has lost the ability to lord itself over you. You now have a new master which is Jesus and He isn’t just your master, He is your partner, your friend and confidant! He lives inside of you by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:10-20). Now, you have received a new life, you can live righteously, you can live in love and peace with people. Jesus has made all things new for you. Even though we may not feel like it now, we are so in our Spirit and on the appointed day, we shall be made to come to the full knowledge of who we are.
:
Jesus also destroyed every works of the devil which includes failure, poverty, sickness, fear and the rest of them. You can walk in victory, you can decide to either live in victory or in fear by disbelieving the extent of what Jesus has done. Yes, they might have told you how a wizard killed several people in your home-country but you can only permit evil to come upon you by disbelieving what Jesus has done and believing that evil has powers over you. But you can chose to believe what Jesus has done and live in it without fear. The day Jesus said “it is finished” (John 19:28-30) He announced your victory! The Bible says it is through Christ that we are more than conquerors. The day you got born again, every records of Jesus and His victory was trasnferred to you, His triumph became your triumph just as His death was your death and His resurrection your resurrection (Romans 6:8).
:
Don’t give in to that failure, don’t give in to that addiction, don’t give in to that sickness! Consistently confess this truth about yourself and I will tell you why you must confess it! The day you got born again, you became a new creature and it was your Spirit that got born again because your Spirit is the real you. This is why you may still find the flesh having the memories of the past, the pains of yesterday, the regrets and the shame! What you now have to do is to keep filling the mind with the truth about yourself, it will take some time to overwrite the past! The says you can only be transformed by the renewal of your mind (Romans 12:2)! Each time you study what God’s word is saying concerning, you are filling your mind with new things and as you confess it, you are bringing it to your consciousness. Sometimes, the devil will want to remind you of the past, maybe it was an abortion, maybe you killed, oh now, that sounds terrible, maybe you committed a terrible sin in the past! If you focus on what he is saying, you will keep living in a past that doesn’t exist because the Bible says old things are passed away for you! But when you read about the new you, you begin to understand the extent of what God has done in you and when you confess it you are shutting off the devil’s lies from your head!
:
Don’t let the amplitude of the devil’s lies be greater than the voice of the word of God in you! Live that victory now! Confess your righteousness, your right standing with God, the good things working for you in all things and your glorious inheritance in Christ! The more you know these truths and remind yourself of it, you will keep experiencing the victory you already have in Christ Jesus! Go on now and live that victory! Christ’s victory is your victory.
