WHERE GOD LEADS…

:
A lot of believers move largely by the flesh, their decisions are dictates of their fears, their excitements and every ,other manifestations of the flesh. Therefore, their fear decides what they do. I believe faith isn’t optimism, faith isn’t confessing the right thing until they start happening, faith isn’t being hopeful for what men will offer… At least, am talking of faith as believers in Christ Jesus. Faith in simple definition means trusting God regardless of what we feel, what our flesh tells us, what our fears tells us and what our hope in men dictates for us. The Bible says
:
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9 NLT
:
The first thing every believer must know is that God is with us everywhere we go, He is with us even when we are doing the wrong things, He is with us in our mistakes and in our success! But hey, we need to understand what that portion of the Bible is saying. We shouldn’t be discouraged by our mistakes, we shouldn’t be afraid of what people said, we should think it’s all over just because something didn’t work out. However, God didn’t say we should go anywhere we want to, He wants us to go where He leads us. There is a difference between knowing that God is with us everywhere we go and that God wants us to go where He leads us. So if you have been walking in the wrong direction, you don’t need to think it’s over now, you can still find encouragement knowing that God is right there with you but wants you to walk where He leads you.
:
Jesus said “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.” – John 16:13 NLT and the Psalmist also said “He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” – Psalms 23:2‭-‬4 NLT
:
looking at the two places I quoted, you see that God wants to guide your thoughts, He wants to guide you into all truth and He wants to lead your steps. The Psalmist knew this truth, he already saw the picture of what Jesus was coming to do, He was coming to put us into rest! But also, the Psalmist knew that God was leading and guiding him. As a result even in his darkest hours, he wasn’t perturbed because he knew God was close beside him. He knew God’s rod aren’t because God is angry but because God loves him and disciplines him with the rod for good. God’s rod would be for chastisement and still for drawing us back to Himself as a loving shepherd.
:
It takes this absolute trust in God to follow His lead. A lot people simply go where they thought life was easier but eventually went into worse suffering because they were looking at the surface. A lot of people entered relationships because the surface looked wonderful even when they sensed God wasn’t leading them there. However, the moment you realize this, also know that God is with you. He sees you through it all.
:
When you’re convinced about where God has placed you, you stop looking for greener pastures because nothing is greener than where God has placed you. I so believe that you do not find greener pastures by yourself. It is God who leads you to greener pastures and make you lie down there.
:
You may walk through fire, through storms and through deserts but as long as He leads you, it is habitable. After all, it is in Jesus you live, move and have your being. You need not fear any evil, just focus on where God is leading you and stop looking sideways for shortcuts.
:
It is not hard to heed to God’s leading. We can ultimately keep knowing what God’s will for us is in His word. God may also speak to our heart, He may speak to us through dreams, He may speak to us trough pastors and friends but everything God says will be inline with the written word, the Bible. Before making any major decision, pray about it and expect to get direction from God. When you’re confused about anything you can also seek for God’s direction. His leading is all you need.
:
I’d say again… No pasture is greener than where God leads you.
Blessings.
