LIVING IN THE NAME OF JESUS

:
Who are the Christians? They are the people licensed to live in the name of Jesus which in other words means to live and exercise the authority of Jesus. We are living today in the name of Jesus. Jesus was made sin on our behalf (2 Corinthians 5:21) and He died on our behalf and established peace between us and God bringing us in union with God, a union established on His blood and sealed by His Spirit (Ephesians 2:1-22). Two things that came through Adam (sin & death) got defeated in Jesus that we might live a victorious life (Romans 5:12, 17). The grace of Jesus is the way out of the mess of the world! Christians are existing in a different environment, they are carriers of this environment! Even in ugly situations, they carry in the divine presence of God. The Bible says we are as God is in this world! (1 John 4:17)
:
All of the great men of the Bible had to wait for Jesus to come. Because not one man was born without sin and only through Jesus can one be saved (Psalm 51:5). They too needed salvation which is only available in Jesus as the Bible says in Acts 4:12 “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” The same way Jesus saved you, He saved Abraham and the rest! Ephesians 4:8 They were waiting for the manifestation of Jesus. The manifestation of Jesus was the public disgrace of the devil, Colossians 2:15.
:
Abraham and the rest of the great men of the Old Testament lived by faith but they were not born again. They were all waiting earnestly for the manifestation of Jesus. In Ephesians 4:9 we see that Jesus went to the lower parts of the earth and set the captives free! All the righteous men of old were held captive somehow. While righteous people stayed at Abraham’s bosom, they were all in the land of the dead until Jesus ascended with them.
:
We are reigning on earth in the name of Jesus. Our victorious life is in His name. This victory is the victory of the son of God. There is nothing our earthly fathers did in the past that can tell on a believer in Christ. If any man is in Christ, old things are passed away! All family curses are passed away and behold we are new creatures! This means we can succeed because we live in His name!
:
Mark 16:16 tells us clearly that those who do not believe are already living in condemnation but them who believes are living victorious life in the name of Jesus! Believing cause us to receive! When you feel there are things happening around you that isn’t from God, don’t complain… Live in the name of Jesus! Refuse to be sick, poor or weak! Jesus has given us His name to live by! Jesus fought the fight and finished it! He gave to us the trophy of His victory and left for us a defeated devil.
:
Everything is fine for the believer! We aren’t just trying to hype it for the Bible says “all things works for good to them who love God” and 1 John 4:4 says we have overcome them as God’s little children! This means even the latest believer who is a baby Christian have overcome the world for He that is in us is greater! To say everything isn’t fine for the believer is to rubbish the word of God. Yes, we may experience challenges in the flesh but listen very carefully, those challenges are for good! When door closes, it’s a close of distraction so you truly see the opportunities God has made available to you.
:
When Jesus asked us to pray in His name (John 14:13), He meant that we pray by His own authority. It’s not just a thing of ending our prayers with “in Jesus name…”, it is about praying in His stead, standing where He stands and speaking what He speaks! If I ask you to go pick something at the Mall in my name, you go there at my authority bearing my own name!
:
The name of Jesus has been given to us, making His name our name. So we to pray in Jesus name is to speak as Jesus! When we release words, they move as powerful as God’s word because we aren’t speaking our words bit the words of Jesus. In Philippians 2:10-11, we see that every knee in heaven and on earth bows at the name of Jesus, we operate in that name and no wonder what we agree on earth is agreed in heaven!
:
Jesus has placed us in His own authority and we learn to operate in His authority by His word! We learn His word and we speak it. Isn’t this why Jesus said we will do greater works?
:
You are designed for greatness!
