LIFE TRANSLATES TO LIGHT

“In him was life, and the life was the light of men.” – 1 John 1:4 (ERV)
:

The moment one receives Jesus which is God’s word personified he also received life and that life translates to light with which men see. We need to carefully understand this portion of the bible so that it can make much meaning to us. The Bible didn’t say we receive life because we received Jesus nor we received light because we received life! No, it was something beyond our personal gain.

:

This is what the Bible is saying:

In Jesus, the very life of God is complete. And this life when expressed becomes the light with which men can see and understand who God is. In this verse the Bible wasn’t asking us to try and shine or cultivate light! No, it simply said that eternal life is in Jesus and that life is also the light the world needs. The light the Bible is talking about is the revelation of the father, Jesus is the revelation of God and the world got to know God in Jesus. No wonder He said “If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

:

The very day we received Jesus, we became alive for God and He started working in us both to will and to do as the Bible said in Philippians 2:13 “for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.” That is how the life we have received which is Jesus becomes the light of men. The light isn’t different from the life, the light is the exhibition of the life (Christ) in us. Jesus didn’t just gave us life but became our life. The Bible says in Colossians 3:4 “…Christ who is your life…” He didn’t say “I own the way, the truth and the life…” He rather said “I am the way, the truth and the life” – John 14:6. We have the way, the truth and the life in us the day we received Jesus. This is why Christ in us is the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).

:

Christ in us isn’t just talking about our state of being born again of which we received Jesus, it also explains the truth that we received Jesus and His anointing. When we say “Jesus Christ”, we are saying “Jesus and His anointing” as Christ is gotten from the Greek word “Christos” which means “the anointed or chosen one”. Christ in us signifies that Jesus and His anointing is in us. In Colossians 2:9-10 the Bible says “For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority;”

:

Now you see that we are complete in Him. Jesus called His disciples of which we are among “the light of the world” and in verse 16 we saw the essence of that light, when people see our good deeds which is the expression of what Jesus is doing in us, they glorify God! Why? It is God whom they see in our deeds.

:

We aren’t just walking in light, we are walking lights! This is how Jesus designed us to be, to be living epistles (2 Corinthians 3:2) Our lives are letters to the world, they look at us and they read God’s love letter to them! God’s life in us translates into light with which the world see the glory of God.

Knowing that you weren’t saved for nothing, go out there and manifest!
