PRACTICE GODLINESS

:

Jesus didn’t pay the price for the temporal effects of practices of sin, however, our salvation is a guarantee that we aren’t going to face the eternal consequence of sin. That is to say, a believer who steal may still face the law and get imprisoned by earthly laws, a believer who fornicates may still be faced with sexually transmitted diseases or unprepared pregnancy. A believer who commits adultery may still loose his or her partner and loose the trust of his or her entire family and friends.

:

What Jesus did was to destroy the nature of sin in the sense that spiritually, sin is dead and don’t exist anymore. Only those who receive his salvation shall experience it not because God haven’t saved all men but because we cannot receive what we don’t believe. Our believe affects our confession. Just as our flesh doesn’t get born again, our flesh can still be suffered on earth as a result of the consequences of sinful practices but our spirit is forever saved.

:

To live a good life on earth, it takes a deliberate decision and practice. Godliness can be practiced, God doesn’t possess a man and for him to act godly, man decides to respond to what God is doing inside of him and express it to visibility.

:

Jesus said in Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father”
You see that? Every good thing you do cause people to praise God! In my previous article “Failed Expectation”, I narrated how people saw God’s goodness through an act of goodness which I portrayed. As a saved person, you are perfect inside out and you need to let people see what God has done in you. No saved man will deliberately be living in sin! While the spiritual reality of sin is dead, sin is still very dangerous to nature! Look at the world today and see how it has been messed up with wickedness!

:

The Bible says in 1 Timothy 4:8 “for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”

:

We need to understand what Paul was communicating here. Look at that very well, let me explain to you. Physical exercise has value, physical exercise is deliberate and it takes so much energy which means anyone involved in it has a lot to bear. I remember trying to engage myself in a body workout, it came with it’s pains and I had to keep practicing because I needed to build up my body in some areas. Now, the Holy Spirit through Paul is saying “godliness” has value in every way. Godliness here isn’t about what God has finished in us, it is about the conscious expression of what God has done in us. Godliness here is the practice of good living and the Bible says it holds promise for the present life and the life to come. This means that every good deed will be rewarded, there is reward for godliness both in the present life and that to come.

:

Now you see, we have no excuse to live anyhow! God works in us both to will and to do, that is why we must work it out for the world to see.

:

Tell yourself “I am the expression of God’s love and goodness and therefore my light will shine for the world to see Jesus through me”

:

God bless you.
